History (BS/BA) Intended Program Outcomes Graduates will: Understand historical chronology from the origin of mankind to the present. Recognize key elements in understanding history (e.g., cultural achievements, major figures, historical contexts, geo-political boundaries, and social and political developments). Graduates will: Sort historical evidence topically and chronologically. Understand cause and effect relationships in history. Critically evaluate and analyze historical data. Identify the influence of history on different people, places, and things. Interpret various historical events which demonstrate and explain change over time. They will score at least 70% on the paper graded by History Department faculty. 85% of graduating seniors will discuss relevant historiography with History Department faculty in history classes like AFH 4100, AFH 4200, AMH 3571, AMH 3572, AMH 4573, etc).
