In order for my students to reach their big goal of mastering 80% of the objectives and scoring a 3 or 4 on the state writing assessment, they need to be able to use conjunctions to write compound sentences. Students will create compound sentences and identify the conjunction in the sentences for independent practice. Then, students will create compound sentences in their own writing.
