PRESS RELEASE September 2012 Panorama design with slender profile face widths: Schüco Sliding System ASS 77 PD.HI Sliding doors flood rooms with light, create attractive views and make bold statements. The new Schüco ASS 77 PD.HI sliding door system (Aluminium Sliding System, 77 mm basic depth, Panorama Design, High Insulation) stands for excellent thermal insulation and maximum transparency and comfort. Winner of the GOLD iF product design award 2012 and the 'best of the best' reddot design award 2012, the highly impressive panorama design is created by the slender profile face widths in the interlocking section and an outer frame concealed in the attachment to the building structure. The new Schüco ASS 77 PD.HI sliding door system allows the narrowest of face widths in the centre section, down to a minimum of 30 mm. The absolute highlight, however, is the vent frame, which can be concealed on three sides due to the new mechatronic fittings technology. This means that an uninterrupted view of the outside through the generously dimensioned "glass walls" is not obscured by invasive profile face widths. Schüco ASS 77 PD.HI features a thermal insulation value of Uw = 1.0 W/m2K. The handle-free panorama door can be opened, closed and locked at the touch of a button on an external control panel. A remote control is another option for convenient operation. On request, a fingerprint access control unit can be integrated into the outer frame so that an authorised group of people may always access the house, when the doors are locked. A new concealed drive and locking system is integrated into the profile and moves vent weights up to a maximum of 500 kg quickly and silently. The vents can accommodate glass thicknesses of up to 60 mm. They glide on innovative tracks that are anchored in the ground together with the threshold to provide easy access. The maximum possible vent width is 3200 mm, and the height 3500 mm. There is a choice of different opening types based on a double-track outer frame. Both the thermally insulated system and the non-insulated Schüco ASS 77 PD.NI option are available immediately. The market launch of a "super insulated" version with predicted UW values of down to 0.8 W/m2K is planned for October 2012. And the contribution that Schüco makes to the environment with pioneering building envelopes. To be more precise, with Energy3: saving energy – generating energy – networking energy. Window and façade systems not only save energy due to optimum thermal insulation, they also generate energy thanks to efficient solar solutions. This creates an excess of energy which can be used by means of intelligent networking. For building functions, as well as for everyday life. The result is a significant step towards energy self-sufficiency – towards the sustainable conservation of natural resources. And towards a secure future. With more than 5000 employees and 12,000 partner companies, Schüco is active in 78 countries and achieved turnover of 2.23 billion euros in 2011.
