There’s nothing like a good argument… (Part 1) Liverpool fan “Liverpool are the best football team in the league” Everton fan “ No they aren’t, Everton are.” Liverpool fan “Don’t talk rubbish, Liverpool are.” Everton fan “You’re the one talking rubbish, Everton are loads better.” Liverpool fan “You must be joking, everyone knows Liverpool are the best”. Everton fan “Everyone? I don’t, I know that Everton are best. I wouldn’t watch Liverpool if you paid me to.” Liverpool fan “That’s good because they don’t let toffee noses into Anfield.” Everton fan “I wouldn’t want to go. Everton are the people’s club, like it says…’if you know your history’” Liverpool fan “Liverpool are magic, Everton are tragic la-la la la ! Liverpool are magic, Everton are tragic la-la la la, !” Everton fan “I don’t care what you say, I’m a blue until I die, I know Iam. I’m sure I am, a blue until I die.” There’s nothing like a good argument… (Part 2) Liverpool fan “Liverpool are the best football team in this city, you’ve only got to look at the league table, they are above Everton” Everton fan “The season’s not even half way through yet. This is going to be our season, we’ve got some great players and we’re already in the semi final of the Carling Cup.” Liverpool fan “It’s the Premier League that counts. I can only remember Everton finishing above Liverpool once. The Carling Cup is a mickey mouse trophy.” Everton fan “You didn’t say the Carling Cup was a micky mouse cup when it was the only thing that Liverpool won in a season.” Liverpool fan “Don’t start talking about trophies. Liverpool have won the league twice as many times as Everton, they’ve won the FA Cup more often too, and they’ve won the European Cup and Champions League more often than Everton have even qualified for it. Everton haven’t won a trophy since 1995 !” Everton fan “Football’s not just about winning trophies. It’s more entertaining at Goodison than it is at Anfield. Everton are a proper club, you know, ‘the people’s club, for proper scousers.’ Liverpool is just like a business, it’s even owned by Americans now, it’s got nothing in common with the people in the city anymore.”
