Specifics of Proposed Rotation
Brief Description:
This rotation will expose the fellow to developing and
administering a large, diverse CME program with a wide-ranging
multi-specialty curriculum.
Goals:
1. Review national accreditation criteria set by the Accreditation
Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)
2. Examine tools and systems to implement a large CME
program with a wide-ranging curriculum
3. Participate in the evaluation of CME activities and program
analysis
List of Activities and Learning Experiences:
1. Review ACCME Accreditation Criteria and CC Policies for
CME
2.
Assist in the development of a CME intervention (live and/or
enduring activity)
3. Orientation with each section of CME: Accreditation,
Development, Operations, Production, Instructional Design,
Technical Support, Communications
4. Evaluate a set of CME activities as part of the Center’s
program analysis
5. Review trends and novel approaches to CME in the industry
by reviewing recent literature
6. Generate ideas to enhance CME program

Expectations of Fellow:
The fellow will be expected to review the environment, gain knowledge about the
accreditation requirements and actively participate in the CME process. The fellow will
also reflect on the Center’s procedures, systems and approach to CME and evaluate a
portion of the CME activities. The fellow will generate and implement ideas (to the
degree possible during the rotation) to enhance the Center’s CME program.

1. Rotation Director will oversee, monitor and evaluate the fellow’s participation
