ACTIONS FROM 19th Meeting
4 February 2009, London Nobel House, Room 101
ACTION 1: Ant to ask NBN for a statement of the procedures already used or planned by NBN Trust to check and
label data accuracy.
ACTION 2: Ant to circulate the Standing Committee minutes prior to each BRIG meeting
ACTION 3: England and Scotland to send a list of their UK habitat group representatives to Ant by June 2009 if at all
possible
ACTION 4: Ant to develop a timetable for the UK meetings once the list of UK representatives is available from the
countries
ACTION 5: JNCC to consider the most cost effective means to coordinate work done by the UK habitat groups
ACTION 6: JNCC to look at and the options available for developing the web-based prototype as outlined in the paper
and their resource implications and prepare a prototype for Standing Committee in autumn 2009
ACTION 7: Matt to send some text dealing with “natural fluctuation” in the delisting paper and Greg to do the same
for dealing with recovery.
ACTION 8: The edited delisting paper to be circulated around BRIG for confirmation and sent to Standing Committee
for the April 2009 meeting
ACTION 9: JNCC to prepare a paper that scopes the target setting work and lists assumptions to be circulated around
BRIG and sent to the April Standing Committee
ACTION 10: BRIG to consider the comments from the April Standing Committee and prepare a final paper on the
principles of target setting for the autumn Standing Committee
ACTION 11: By the next BRIG meeting, Greg, Paul and Matt to review UK requirements (as stated in ‘UK approach’),
identify were there were gaps and the potential role for BRIG in addressing these gaps.
ACTION 12: Richard Alexander and Sarah to find out more about the Defra research funding and report to BRIG as
soon as possible so this could be considered when sending out the Suite 1 actions (see action 12)
ACTION 13: Ant to send the information from the research workshop and contained in the Peak Ecology report to
the relevant potential funders and ask for them to identify projects they may be willing to fund.
ACTION 14: Ant to thank the attendees of the research workshop and consider preparing an article for the JNCC
newsletter.
ACTION 15: Ant (JNCC) and Richard Alexander (NE) to discuss setting up an England UK BAP website and
transferring England information from UK BAP website to this new one
ACTION 16: Ant and Steve Wilkinson (JNCC) and Megan (BARS) to work together to discuss how best to provide UK
BAP information on these websites
ACTION 17: Ant to produce evidence trail for species rejected during the BAP review.
