Research Assistant – full time fixed term (18 months) The MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit (CBSU) is an internationally renowned research institute with state-of-the-art cognitive neuroscience facilities. A Research Assistant position is available to join an ongoing project investigating cognition and behaviour in children with intellectual disability of known genetic origin. The position will involve employing standardised assessments and experimental measures with children and their parents in home settings around the UK. This position would be ideal for someone wanting to gain experience in research that involves developmental populations with cognitive impairments. You will have a good undergraduate degree in psychology or a related discipline, plus a keen interest in developmental cognitive psychology and neurodevelopmental disorders. Experience of working with human volunteers, particularly children and/or adolescents with disability and their families is very desirable. You will also have a good knowledge of software packages and techniques for data analysis (e.g. SPSS) and document/presentation production (e.g. MS Office) and proved good abilities in time management. This is a 18 months fixed term position based in Cambridge, and involves travel to home settings around the UK, which would be facilitated by having a valid full UK driving licence. The starting salary will be in the range of £21,517 - £22,748 per annum, depending upon qualifications and experience.
