Computational Infrastructure for Nuclear Astrophysics (August 2003 to present)
(http://www.nucastrodata.org/): The world’s first web-launched, platform-independent,
user-friendly Java software application that, in conjunction with a remote database and
FORTRAN scientific codes, enables users to evaluate, manage, share, calculate and
visualize experimental nuclear data, thermonuclear reaction rates, and element synthesis
simulations for explosive astrophysical phenomena including novae and x-ray bursts.
Nuclear Masses Toolkit (March 2008 to present) (http://www.nuclearmasses.org/): The world’s
first web-launched, platform-independent, user-friendly Java software application that, in
conjunction with a remote MySQL database via PHP, enables users to upload, modify,
share, analyze and visualize nuclear mass datasets.
Big Bang Online (March 2006 to present) (http://www.bigbangonline.org/): The world’s first weblaunched, platform-independent, user-friendly Java software application that, in
conjunction with a remote MySQL database and FORTRAN scientific codes via Perl,
enables users to evaluate, manage, share, calculate and visualize thermonuclear
reaction rates, primordial abundance observations, “Big Bang” cosmological simulations,
and cosmological constraints on these simulations.
Conjunct (October 2007 to present): Conjunct is a set of software tools used to explore an
integrated reliability test database for casing and tubing connections that addresses
design engineering, purchasing, quality, operations, installation and management needs
for the oil drilling industry. Conjunct is a client-server application using a web-delivered
Microsoft Visual C# with .NET graphical user interface connected to a remote MySQL
database via PHP.
Advanced Probabilistic Tubular Design Toolkit (October 2007 to present): The Advanced
Probabilistic Tubular Toolkit is a set of software tools used to explore a large database of
oil drilling pipe casing properties and simulate pipe collapse and burst scenarios. The
software suite is a client-server application using a web-delivered Microsoft Visual C#
with .NET graphical user interface connected to a remote MySQL database via PHP.
Secretary (February 2009): Secretary is a software system used to transmit simulation results
from offshore oil drilling installations and store these results on a remote web server.
Secretary notifies designated personnel automatically of file uploads or software errors by
email and text message. The software suite is a client/server application using a
Microsoft Visual C# with .NET graphical user interface connected to a remote flat file
database via PHP.
Interactive Conceptual Model (May 2007 to September 2007)
(http://cfpub.epa.gov/caddis/icm/ICM.htm): The Interactive Conceptual Model (ICM) is an
interactive web tool that facilitates literature retrieval based on conceptual models for the
EPA/NCEA Causal Analysis/Diagnosis Decision Information System (CADDIS). The ICM
was developed using Adobe’s Flash CS3 with ActionScript 3 and Adobe ColdFusion 8 in
conjunction with an XML database.
RSim: A Regional Simulation to Explore Impacts of Resource Use and Constraints (December
2005 to October 2006) (http://www.esd.ornl.gov/programs/SERDP/RSim/): An
environmental decision support system designed specifically for military installations,
which have a unique set of ecological issues. It explores the impacts and constraints of
resource use by projecting future land cover changes and their impacts on environmental
conditions by allowing users to calculate and visualize these projections through a
platform-independent, user-friendly Java software package.

set of 93 general physics modules developed in Macromedia Flash MX. This media was
