Predictors of Relapse to Smoking in Lung Cancer
The goal of this study is to identify factors to guide improvements in interventions for maintenance of smoking
cessation among patients with lung cancer. This information will then be used to tailor smoking cessation
programs to the particular needs of the patients.

Worksite Phone Counseling for Smoking Cessation
This study will: evaluate the Efficacy/Effectiveness of a Flexible Nondirective Intervention for telephone
counseling versus Standardized Intervention in promoting abstinence from smoking at 6 and 12 months following
enrollment; evaluate the effect of job category (Low Income, Professional, Other) on abstinence from smoking at
6 and 12 months following enrollment; and evaluate the interaction of telephone counseling (Flexible
Nondirective vs. Standardized) and job category (Low Income, Professional, Other) on abstinence from smoking
at 6 and 12 months following enrollment.
