RESOLUTION
Region One Education Service Center
Whereas,
the Region One Education Service Center is a governmental entity of the State
of Texas; and
Whereas, the Board of Directors believe that energy efficient operations will reduce
operating costs of the organization and are of the opinion that such measures will be
beneficial to the environment and to the taxpayers of the State of Texas through the
anticipated savings to be realized; and
Whereas, the Board of Directors, in compliance with the requirements of Senate Bill 12
and House Bill 3693; 80th Legislative Session, effective as of September 1, 2007, we now
establish an ENERGY CONSUMPTION REDUCTION PLAN with a goal to reduce
annual electric consumption by five percent (5%) each state fiscal year for the next six (6)
years; and
Whereas, the implementation of the Energy Consumption Reduction Plan shall be the
joint responsibility of the Executive Director, administrators, staff and support personnel; and
Whereas, the Energy Consumption Reduction Plan shall consider the following areas of
potential conservation: Efficient Lighting Systems, Solar Electric Generation Panels, Efficient
Appliance Purchases, Vending Machine operating controls, Wind Electric Generation Turbines and
General Maintenance and Operations revisions, and shall record and report the energy consumption
information of the organization on a publicly accessible Internet website; now
Therefore, be it resolved, that on this 21st day of August, 2008, that the Board of
Directors do, by this ACTION establish the Energy Consumption Reduction Plan.
