NAME: ___________________________________ CLASS:____________ Specialized Cells Our bodies are composed of single cells that work together to make up tissues, which then work together to make up organs, which work together to make up organ systems, which finally come together to make up an organism. We are multicellular eukaryotic organisms. This means we are made of more than one cell, and that all of the cells that make us up have a nucleus. However, not all the cells that make up an organism are identical. Cells vary greatly in size, shape and structure, depending on what function they have to perform for the organism. Directions: You will make your way to 7 stations. At each station there is a different cell type. You will explain how the structure of each of the different cell types makes that cell good at it s particular function in the organism. Cell Type (draw the cell in the box) Red Blood Cells Skin Cells Sperm Cells Nerve Cells Muscle Cells What function does this cell provide for the organism? How does its structures help it do it’s particular job? NAME: ___________________________________ CLASS:____________ Fat Cells Guard Cells Analysis Questions: 1.
