PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
1.
Students will randomly choose 12 DNA sequences in class to determine the 6 genes of their
CHNOP
2.
Students will use these sequences to identify the mRNA, tRNA (use tRNA chart), and amino acid sequences of their CHNOP using the data table below.
3.
Using the amino acid sequence chart, students identify expressed for that gene.
4.
Using the 6 traits, the students will have to complete the following: a) Sketch and label the CHNOP on the sheet provided b) Create a pedigree chart of one 1 of the traits
Must include possible grandparent, parent, and siblings for that trait (use
Punnett squares to figure out genotype!)
You will be given a possible mate (from the class) and will have to include possible offspring
USE PUNNETT SQUARES!!
You will draw the phenotype and label the genotypes
