HOME GENERATED SHARPS DISPOSAL PROGRAM The importance of proper disposal of home generated medical sharps waste is becoming more evident each day as more and more hypodermic needles and other medical waste is found in the waste stream daily by City solid waste workers. The City of Redlands is proud to be one of only a few cities in California who offer a program to help residents responsibly dispose of needles, syringes, lancets and other sharp objects used in the personal administration of prescription medications at home. The City of Redlands Home Generated Sharps Disposal Program will accept for proper disposal at no charge, sharps containers from Redlands residents at the Redlands Fire Station #1 only, however, empty containers are available at all locations shown below. HOW IT WORKS 1. Free sharps containers are available to City of Redlands residents ONLY, at Redlands Fire Stations #1, located at 525 E. Citrus Avenue from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. (Proof of residency is required) 2. When the container is approximately ¾ full, simply take it to Redlands Fire Station #1, located at 525 E. Citrus Avenue from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
