The City of Little Rock has developed a Homeless Day Resources Center that is scheduled to open in the Spring of 2013.
As of the date of this directory’s publication it has not yet opened.
The Location of this center is 3001 Confederate Blvd, the site of the old Union Rescue
Mission mens' shelter.
This new city operated Homeless Day Resource Center is purported to provide daily meals, laundry and shower facilities, and referrals. Case management services will also be available but will not be mandatory. This will be a secular (non religious) environment.
There are scheduled to be two large transport vans that will be scheduled to travel specific routes throughout the city to pick up homeless patrons and deliver them to the center and then return them to their residential locations.
All this is still under development and when it is operational this center will be a gamechanger for the city of Little Rock. It will most likely take at least 6-months to shake the bugs out of the system. So by the Fall of 2013 the City of Little Rock's new Homeless
Day Resource Center should be running smoothly. In the mean time, if you have any questions please call James E. “Jimmy” Pritchett, the city of Little Rock's Homeless
Services Coordinator at (501) 379-1562.
