Coatings & Paint Waterborne lacquers and paints The benefits High quality, durable finish Quick drying Good for the environment Vastly reduced emissions of solvents Keeping it clean As a company, Becker Acroma is making the transition from solventborne solutions to waterborne solutions. Because we want to make environmentally-adapted solutions that produce the same results as conventional techniques, while avoiding harmful emissions to internal and external environments Apart from exclusive furniture and fittings, we'd like furniture and fitting producers to consider the advantages of using our range of waterborne lacquers and paints; a cleaner product line, a dramatic reduction in harmful emissions, fully compliant with local and global environmental legislation and safer handling. An added advantage of using waterborne lacquers and paints is that we have managed to minimize the risk of skin allergies and irritations from the equation: ensuring safe handling and less hassle for producers. For producers, changing to waterborne lacquers and paints comes at a cost in terms of money and time. A new production line, different applications, sometimes major changes, sometimes minor. This is something that we can provide expert help with, and we think it is an investment worth making. We'll leave the thought with you. UV-curing The benefits High quality, exceptionally durable surfaces Rapid process Big productivity gains Cost efficiency Dramatic reductions in solvent emissions What’s the deal with UV? The deal is this: UV curing products cure in a split second, produce exceptionally durable surfaces and have excellent stacking qualities. They are also safer to handle than conventional solutions when handled correctly. And that’s just for starters. In their basic format all of our UV curing products are solvents-free, which is good news for indoor and outdoor environments, while you save time in cleaning up after a production run. At Becker Acroma we are developing new application technology to widen the application of UV curing products. These new developments include sprayable and pigmented paint UV products that broaden our customer’s scope for dreaming up and making new products. And getting them to market quicker. Let us help you to make the switch and open new doors. Go UV. Waterborne UV curing products The benefits High-quality finish and surface resistance. Requires minimal or no investment No organic solvents – good for the environment Minimize the risk of skin irritation and allergies Less hassle, great finish For profiled or planar surfaces, Becker Acroma waterborne UV curing products produce beautiful, strong and resistant surfaces. Our fast-drying UV system simplifies handling, enhances the end result and is good for the environment. Containing no organic solvents, there are no harmful emissions. Machinery and other line equipment can be cleaned with water that can then be recycled in the production process. Our solutions also create a safer working environment because we have minimized the risk of skin irritations and allergies. Our range combines UV technology with the application flexibility of waterborne technology and the finish and surfaces possible with our solutions is on a par with conventional finishing techniques. From a cost point of view, our waterborne UV curing products boost throughput while involving minimal or no investment in new equipment. Also requiring less equipment than conventional solutions, they enable easier handling; shorter curing times and can be used on existing lines with only minor adjustments. Stains The benefits Light fast, acid-proof and heatproof Add value to wood products Wide choice of colours and effects Create your own effects Waterborne stains Becker Acroma waterborne stains offer a trio of advantages: they produce beautiful finishes, they come in a broad choice of effects and by reducing solvent emissions, they are better for the environment. Our range of waterborne stains can be adapted for all types of application methods and are a simple and costefficient way of achieving appealing finishes. Our waterborne stains come in almost every imaginable colour, are fast drying and can be used on all types of wood substrate. Solventborne stains Our range of solventborne stains comprises fast drying stains, producing beautiful finishes. The solvents used in these stains are ethanol and esters – no aromatic hydrocarbons or heavy metals. Lacquers and paints for exterior use The benefits Protection against UV, rain and moisture Protection against temperature variations Highly resistant to chemical, lime and abrasion Stops knot resin A solution for all seasons For windows, doors, garden furniture, panelling and other items exposed to the vagaries of weather and variations in temperature Becker Acroma has a range of lacquers and paints to do the job of making them beautiful, while providing protection against the elements. Solventborne lacquers and paints The benefits Excellent application properties Fast drying times Durable, quality finish and wear resistance Mild solvents – good for environment and workplace Safe and easy to use Our approach to paint formulation is good for the environment and our customers’ workplace. We use mild solvents such as esters and alcohols - we do not use aromatic hydrocarbons carbons. One-pack systems One-pack systems are often the easiest to work with because of their good application properties and long pot life. Most are fast drying, especially at increased temperatures and some have a built-in hardener that activates on application. Two-pack systems Two-pack systems require a hardener or catalyst to dry/cure. They typically have excellent application, curing and stacking properties in modern application lines and produce hard, chemical-resistant surfaces. Typically, our two-pack systems consist of polyurethane and acid-curing products. The largest two-pack group is acid-curing products. Using acid-curing products is cost-effective, offering fast curing, chemical resistant, attractive surfaces, all while meeting the E1 limit for formaldehyde emissions. Oils and waxes The benefits Based on mainly natural raw materials Natural look, lustre and superior surface feel Adapted for modern industrial applications Enable rapid stacking The natural look and feel For cupboards, tables, drawer pedestals and fittings, Becker Acroma oils and waxes produce a natural look, lustre and superior surface feel. Our oils and waxes are based on mainly natural raw materials. They are adapted for modern industrial application techniques and produce excellent results on most types of wood, especially pine and Nordic hardwoods. WoodWash The benefits Inhibits and delays yellowing of pale woods such as pine No self-inducing yellowing Surface protection Can be used with existing spray or roller application equipment Adds value to traditional pine furniture and fittings New opportunities for whitewood design Protecting and preserving nature’s own work WoodWash – the new finishing concept from Becker Acroma – solves the age-old problem of preserving the original look and texture of newly sanded whitewood. But, not only wood yellows with age. Traditional lacquering systems yellow too. Which is why most whitewood furniture can soon lose its fresh and natural look. WoodWash delays the yellowing process in pale woods, like pine. Now wood finishers, furniture manufacturers and designers can think again and use pale woods, safe in the knowledge that WoodWash will keep pale woods looking pale and not yellow – at least not for a very long time. For furniture, kitchen cupboards and other wood fittings WoodWash is a flexible, highly effective industrial finishing system, easily introduced on existing application lines as a waterborne or solventborne product. WoodWash can be applied directly as a single-coat treatment on newly sanded wood, or as a multicoat system. It offers surface protection that is the equal of more conventional finishes. WoodWash products cause no self-induced yellowing. After long exposure to light the finish may, at most, acquire a hint of grey, like hand-scrubbed pine. So, wood finishers, furniture manufacturers and designers of the world, pale woods are coming back – with Becker Acroma WoodWash.
