ERAS Timeline for BGSMC Application Process Guideline: The following 13 steps should serve as a guideline throughout your application process. Step 1: Research Programs and Contact them for Information. Find out requirements, if they are participating in ERAS, and their specific deadline. Step 2: Get Your Electronic Token. The token is a fourteen-digit alpha-numeric code that is sent to you via e-mail. You need this token to register at the MyERAS Web site to start the fellowship application process. Detailed login instructions will be included in the token e-mail. Go to https://www.erasfellowshipdocuments.org/. On the left side choose the link “Token Request”. Follow the step by step instructions. There is a $75.00 fee Step 3: Register on MyERAS. Register early. EFDO might wait to do any processing of your documents until you have registered. You can register by going to http://services.aamc.org/eras/myeras. You can only register once, so be sure and double check any information entered. Step 4: Create Your Profile. Provide as much information as possible. Be sure to contact your med school as soon as the ERAS application is started. It can takes months to get deans letters, copies of transcripts and board scores. Step 5: Complete Your MyERAS Application. You can print off blank applications to use as practice. You can log in multiple times to work on your application before you are ready to submit by pressing “Save” at the end of each session. Once you are ready to submit your application press “Submit”. After “Submit” has been pressed you can no longer edit your application. You cannot apply to a program until your application is certified and submitted. Every program you apply to will get the same application. You can personalize it for different programs by using your personal statements which are attached at a later time. In this section you can create personal statements, create a list of recommendation writers and authorize transmission or retransmission of your USMLE and/or NBOME transcripts. Choose from the documents you submitted in “Working with Your Document”. Select the items you would like to be applied to your application. If you have multiple photos, personal statements or letters of recommendation this is where you choose which items go to which programs. Before you apply confirm the program is participating in ERAS, the final deadline, eligibility, fee schedule and ERAS fees. Be sure to apply before the deadline date. Not all information is received the same day. It is your responsibility to make sure letters of recommendation have been received and processed. Applications submitted after the deadline may not be processed. Step 10: Check the Status of Your Application - Applicant Document Tracking System (ADTS) and Monitor the Message Center for Information from Programs. Visit http://services.aamc.org/eras/adts to check the status of your application. You will need your AAMC ID number and password. Step 11: Add Programs/Update Your Documents and Track Assignments. You may apply to additional fellowship programs at any time. There are 10 applications covered in the initial fee. You can assign or de-assign letters of recommendation or personal statements at any time and assign new ones in its place. Step 12: Keep Your Profile Up-to-Date. A letter of recommendation will not be written without these items. All requests need to be submitted to the program director 12 weeks prior to ERAS deadline.
