Miss Moss 2008 Blanc de Blancs - Strathbogie Ranges - 12% Vineyard The fruit for this wine was sourced from the Antcliff Chase vineyard in the Strathbogie Ranges, at an elevation of approximately 600m. This altitude ensures large diurnal temperature fluctuations (day-night temperature change), helping maintain acidity and capture flavour. The vineyard itself was planted in 1982 onto free draining deep granitic soils. Rainfall is relatively high with around 870mm annually. Vine age combined with the soil and climate of the region ensures vines maintain good balance each season. Vintage Condition 2008 in the Strathbogie Ranges couldn’t have been better. It was a moderate summer with minimal rain and cool nights. These were the ideal conditions for growing Chardonnay with good acid structure. Winemaking 100% Chardonnay. 100% Whole bunch press followed by primary fermentation in 4/5 year old French Oak. As with Champagne a second fermentation takes place in bottle. The wine spends approximately 3 years on lees in bottle, prior to disgorging.
