An essential resource is the USIDNET Patient Registry. This web-based Registry contains clinical and laboratory data on over 3800 patients with the most prevalent primary immune deficiencies. Over 40 medical centers and private medical practices have been enrolling patients into the Registry and updating longitudinal records. Data are validated and curated to provide a unique resource for our field. We provide de-identified data for use in medical management, research grants, abstract presentations, and publications. Dr. Richard Schiff and his colleagues at Baxter Pharmaceuticals have long shared a passion for improving the understanding and treatment of PIDD. In honor of the late Dr. Schiff’s legacy, USIDNET and Baxter Pharmaceuticals are partnering to offer grants to accelerate use of the USIDNET Registry for translational research. We are seeking proposals from physicians or researchers in any area, who will use the USIDNET Registry data in the course of a project leading to a published manuscript on one or more of the diseases in the Registry Eligibility: Recipients must be US citizens or green card holders. Clinicians and scientists at any level may apply. Format: The two page application should include Aims, Background, and Methods. References and the other required components do not count against the two page limit. NIH margins and font sizes should be used. Awardees will provide a scientific summary upon completion of the funded and a copy of the submitted manuscript. Scoring of applications: A committee will score each application based on the following criteria: 40% Scientific merit of proposal and likelihood it will result in publication 30% Quality of candidate and commitment to the field of PIDD 20% Use of the registry for the project 10% Potential impact on patient care
