When students begin high school the focus of education gradually changes to preparing them for
life after high school, or “transition”. Special Education philosophy and law requires that students
post secondary goals are considered in the IEP, programs and specially designed instruction. We
need to know your views on your students’ goals, strengths and needs to do this appropriately. We
will also assess students in other ways that include inventories, observations and situational
assessments. Please answer the questions based on what you believe right now – we recognize
that as students mature and learn goals will change. Thank you for your assistance.
