Richard J. Marrone Memorial Scholarship Requirements and Eligibility The Knights of Columbus Council 12579 are pleased to announce the Richard J. Marrone Memorial Scholarship. This $1,000 award will be made to a deserving parishioner of St. Veronica Catholic Church, Chantilly Virginia, who will graduate in the year of the award. The Scholarship will be administered by the Knights of Columbus Council 12579. Eligibility: Applicants must be in their senior year of high school, planning on attending either two or four year college in the same year of the award, and be an immediate family member of a family enrolled as parishioners at St. Veronica Catholic Church, Chantilly VA. The applicant must be enrolling in college with a major in engineering. Requirements: The applicant must graduate in the same year as the application, and must enroll in college during the same year. The applicant must submit an application, available at the Knights of Columbus Council 12579 website, a copy of his/her high school transcript; a listing of extracurricular activities, and proof of acceptance to a two- or four-year institute of higher learning with a major in engineering. Timing of Submissions: Applications will be accepted beginning 01 January of each award year. All completed elements of the application must be received by 15 April of the award year. Judging and award: All applications will be reviewed and the winner selected by the Trustees of Knights of Columbus Council 12579and the winner announced by 01 June of the award year. The Council will disperse the amount of $1,000 to the award winner. The award is a single, one time award, which will not recur in subsequent academic years.
