(They all look through binoculars)

Pat:
(Pointing) Look, there is an octopus in the sea.
Sam:
(Pointing) There is a seagull in the sky
John:
(Pointing) There is a crab on the rocks
Henrietta:
(Pointing) There is a whale under the boat
Mary.
(Pointing) There is a seahorse in the sea.
Pat:
(Pointing) There are some jellyfish on the beach.
Sam:
(Pointing) There is a dolphin near the boat
John:
(Pointing) There are some sharks behind the boat
Henrietta:
(Pointing) There is an island in the bay.
Mary:
(Pointing) There are some boats in the port
Pat:
(Pointing) There is a lighthouse on the island
(Enter pirates)
Mary:
(Pointing)There are some pirates on the beach
Children:

There! (Pointing to the pirates)
Pirates:

(Exit Henrietta, Pat, John and Sam, running. Mary hides in the corner)

Wendy:

Sally:
Hello, my name is Sally.
Jenny:
Hello, my name is Jenny.
Pirates:
We are ........... Pirates!
Perry:

Barry:

Wendy:

Sally:
We are brave.
Jenny:
We are bad.
Pirates:
We are Pirates. We are the Pirates of Santa Clara.
(Exit pirates)

(Mary enters and sits quietly in the corner)
(Enter pirates)
Sally:

Jenny:
It’s hers
Perry:
Whose is this pen?
Barry:
It’s his.
Jenny:
Whose is this rubber?
Wendy:
It’s yours.
Barry:
Whose is this bag?
(Mary steps forward
Mary:
It’s mine.
Pirates:
It’s a mermaid. A beautiful mermaid.
Mary:
My name is Mary, Mary the Mermaid. Who are you?
Pirates:
We are Pirates. We are the Pirates of Santa Clara.
Mary:
Santa Clara. What is Santa Clara?
Perry,Sally:
Santa Clara is an island, a beautiful island.
Wendy,Barry,Jenny:
Santa Clara is a beautiful island in the bay of San Sebastian
Mary:
Are you hungry?
Perry:
Yes, I am.
Mary:
Are you sleepy?
Barry:
No, I am not.
Mary:
Are you brave?
Wendy:
Yes, I am
Perry:
You? You are not brave, I am brave!
Barry:

Wendy:

Jenny:

Sally:

(The pirates start fighting)
(Mary becomes angry and shouts at the pirates)

(The pirates suddenly stop fighting)
Mary:

Pirates:
No, we are not. We are bad, very bad. Ha, ha, ha
Perry:
Take her!
(Enter children)
Children:
Oh no, Mary!
(The children try to help Mary but the pirates fight them of and exit)
Pirates:
Let’s go to Santa Clara island! Hooray!
(The pirates kidnap the mermaid and exit)

(Enter the children)
Children:
Oh no, oh no! The pirates have got the mermaid.
(John gets out his mobile phone and calls the police)
John:
Police, police! Help, help!
(There is the sound of a police car wailing, and then the police enter)
Bob:
Hello, my name is Bob.
Bill:
Hello, my name is Bill.
Bob,Bill:
We are policemen.
Bob:
We are strong.
Bill:
We are fast.
Bob:
We are clever
Bill:
We are brave.
Bob,Bill:
We are ........... the super police.
Children:
Hello. Are you policemen?
Bob,Bill:
Yes, we are.
Children:
The pirates have got the mermaid.
Bob,Bill:
The pirates have got the mermaid.
Children:
Yes, the pirates have got the mermaid.
Bob:
Have you got a map?
Perry:
Yes, I have.
Wendy:
Have you got a boat?
Bill:
No, I haven’t.
Children:
We need a boat.
Bob:
I have got a boat.
Bob,Bill,children:
Come on, let’s go.
(They all climb into the boat)
Children:
Where is the island?
Policemen:
Where is the island?
John:
Look, a seahorse.
Sam:
Look, a crab.
Pat:
Look, a dolphin.
Henrietta:
Look, a jellyfish.
Bill:
Look, a whale.
Bob:
Look, an octopus
John:
Look, a lighthouse
Everyone:
The island.
(They arrive on the island and all climb out of the boat)
Mary:
Help. help.
Policemen:
Listen!
(They all stop moving and listen)

(They all suddenly see Mary in the corner)
Everyone:

(They all run and find Mary in the corner of the stage)
(Suddenly the pirates appear)
Pirates:
Stop.
Everyone:
Oh no, the pirates!
Pirates:
Ha, ha, ha. We are pirates, we are the pirates of Santa Clara!
(They all have a big sword fight and finally the policemen and the children knock the pirates out)
Everyone:
Hooray, hooray.
Mary:
Thank you, thank you. You are very brave.
Policemen:
Let’s have a party.
Everyone:
Yes, let’s have a party!
