Description
HIRING OF FOUR (4) ENGINEERS
The Office of Project Development Services (OPDS) is hiring Engineers for Six (6) months
duration (May to November, 2011) with the following qualifications and functions:
I. ENGINEER III(2)
A. QUALIFICATIONS:
Aca‚-Ac Registered Civil Engineer
Aca‚-Ac New Board passers may apply
Aca‚-Ac With knowledge in basic computer operations
B. FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Aca‚-Ac Assist OPDS and its Consultant prepare and formulate guidelines, and
corresponding assessment or survey forms for the conduct of Infrastructure Audit at the LGU
level;
Aca‚-Ac Assist DILG and LGUs in the actual conduct of Infrastructure Audit of selected
LGUs;
Aca‚-Ac Assist LGUs in documenting results of investigation and determine degree of
vulnerability of existing infrastructure to earthquakes, floods, typhoons and other natural
hazards;
Aca‚-Ac Conduct research and document findings and measures or actions adopted and
implemented in other countries, to improve resiliency and structural integrity of vulnerable or
damaged infrastructure to natural hazards;
Aca‚-Ac Assist LGUs in the preparation and review plans and drawings, specifications and
cost estimates of LGU subprojects; including structural design analysis, of buildings, bridge,
ports and harbor, and other civil works that may be submitted by LGUs for funding;
Aca‚-Ac Monitor implementation of LGU subprojects and submit required reports;
Aca‚-Ac Conduct quality test, as required, of construction materials and workmanship;
Aca‚-Ac Assist the OPDS in the certification of completed LGU subproject;
Aca‚-Ac Coordinate with other national government agencies, professional organizations and
NGOs involved in disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation programs;
Aca‚-Ac Assume other duties and responsibilities as may be delegated by the OPDS director
and other superiors
II. ENGINEER IV(2)
A. QUALIFICATIONS:
Aca‚-Ac Registered Civil Engineer
Aca‚-Ac At least 5 years of experience as project engineer
Aca‚-Ac Familiar with construction methods and procedures
Aca‚-Ac With knowledge in project development, procurement process and contract
administration and management
Aca‚-Ac Familiar with engineering design, standards and criteria for all types of
infrastructure
Aca‚-Ac With knowledge in basic computer operations
B. FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Aca‚-Ac Assist OPDS and its Consultant prepare and formulate guidelines, and
corresponding assessment or survey forms for the conduct of Infrastructure Audit of all types
of infrastructure;
Aca‚-Ac Assist DILG and LGUs in the actual conduct of Infrastructure Audit
Aca‚-Ac Document results of investigation and determine degree of vulnerability of existing
infrastructure to earthquakes, floods, typhoons and other natural hazards
Aca‚-Ac Assist LGUs in the preparation of particularly Feasibility Studies on the Engineering
aspect; such as required data and laboratory or field test,
Aca‚-Ac Assist LGUs in the preparation and review of plans and drawings, specifications,
and cost estimates for all types of infrastructure, including structural design analysis for
buildings, bridge, ports and harbor and other civil works;
Aca‚-Ac Conduct geo-resistivity and water source capacity assessment for water supply
projects;
Aca‚-Ac Monitor implementation of LGU subprojects and submit required reports;
Aca‚-Ac Conduct of test as required of construction materials and workmanship;
Aca‚-Ac Assist the OPDS in the certification of completed LGU subproject;
Aca‚-Ac Assist the OPDS in knowledge skills transfer to LGUs on various stages of project
development, especially concerning engineering and technical works;
Aca‚-Ac Prepare documentary and other requirements for application and approval of ECC
and water rights;
Aca‚-Ac Coordinate with other national agencies and offices involved with DILG projects;
Aca‚-Ac Assume other duties and responsibilities as may be delegated by the OPDS director
and other superiors

is on April27, 2011 and the tentative schedule of interview is on April29, 2011.
