After completion of my residency, I joined same department as clinical associate and research fellow with
renowned Prof. Atul Goel. During this period I got maximum opportunity to refine my surgical skills and
grow as a competent neurosurgeon. I got to operate on various complex brain and spinal cases. I was able to
operate all kinds of malignant brain tumours like astrocytoma, medulloblastoma, and also benign tumours
like meningioma and schwannomas. Apart from this I also operated on cases of spine tumours, degenerative
spine disease and pediatric neurosurgical cases. Apart from neuro-oncosurgery I had wide exposure to
vascular neurosurgery, functional and stereotactic neurosurgical cases.
I continued to be involved in resident teaching and also in regular shop-floor teaching for SHOs, medical
students and nursing staff.
Apart from this I was actively involved in research and publications. I also continued cadaveric dissection in
our microneurosurgery lab and published my work too.
I was able to be more involved in departmental management such as various clinical meetings and
educational symposiums.
