Build a new home and give yourself a new kind of life based on attractive, sunny and affordable land
lots close to town and the sea available at Glastadheia in Tvedestrand.
Tvedestrand is a pittoresque town and the center of the municipality with the same name, which has
about 6,000 citizens located in Southern Norway, about 220 km (3 hours by road) south west of Oslo
and 100 km (1 hour and 20 minutes by road) north east of Kristiansand. See map and pictures
on www.google.no. The nearest airports are Kjevik outside Kristiansand and Torp outside Sandefjord
(about 1 hour 45 minutes by road toward Oslo).
Glastadheia is an area regulated for private dwelling land lots which is located to the south
of Tvedestrand - within walking distance to the centre of town. Some of the lots have view to the fjord
and the sea. The lots are all in a sunny area. All the land lots are in an area 80 - 115 metres above
sea level. Their sizes range from 547 to 1,100 square metres (656 to 1,320 square yards).
Glastadheia has been developed as a family-friendly area with playgrounds, also for ball activities,
places at the seaside for leisure swimming and a lot of free space. The area is being developed by a
private company under local government supervision. All necessary infrastructure (road with
pavement, water and sewage system, electricity and telecom cables) is provided to the boundary of
each land lot. In addition, berths for leisure boats can be arranged. The municipality of
Tvedestrand provides water, sewage and road services. The road to the town centre is secure with
pavement all along.
Tvedestrand has both public and private nursery schools for children aged 1 to 6. There are public
schools for children aged 6 to 16. The secondary level school for children aged 13 to 16 has recently
been fully refurbished and upgraded. Tvedestrand also has a continuance school for adolescents
aged 16 to 19. All the schools are within 20 - 25 walking distance from Glastadheia. The nearby cities
of Arendal, Grimstad and Kristiansand offer several opportunities for further education, including
university level courses. There is public transport (bus service) to these cities. By car, Arendal is
reached in 25 - 30 minutes; Grimstad in 40 - 45 minutes.
Tvedestrand offers both quiet and idyllic surroundings with a great fjord and scarry-scattered
coastline, which is ideal for boating, fishing and other seaside leisure activities. However, there are
also active sports clubs for those interested in football, handball, cycling, athletics, skiing etc. The
sports centre is located by the secondary level school and includes a hall for all-year activities.
Nearby, there are two football pitches, one of which has artificial grass allowing all-year activity.
Furthermore, there is a workout gym nearby offering aerobics, spinning and other sweat-pouring
activities.
About 7 km outside Tvedestrand, there is an attractive 18 hole golf course which is open to nonmembers against payment of green-fee. It also features a 9-short hole pay and play course.
