Lunenburg Co., Nova Scotia New Germany Methodist Circuit Marriages 1863-1889 The Methodist church at New Germany was built in 1850, but New Germany did not become a separate circuit with resident clergy until 1863, in the meantime being served from Lunenburg. This circuit includes New Germany, Barss’ Corner, Northfield, Springfield, New Canada, and Ohio (Simpson’s Corner). The Methodist clergyman stationed at New Germany also had under his charge the Methodist church building at Northfield and New Canada. In 1891 Northfield became a separate mission with Rev. H. C. McNeill, but it was re-united to New Germany in 1893. Within this circuit, a new church was dedicated at New Canada on April 28, 1878, at Northfield on June 12, 1881 and at Barss Corner on May 10, 1903. The resident clergymen have been: 1863 Samuel B.
