Awarding of Scholarships
Scholarships will be presented at the annual Celebrate Mayborn event sponsored by the Mayborn School of
Journalism. The date is Thursday, April 30. The location is the Gateway Ballroom. Scholarship recipients not
attending the event will be notified by mail.
Scholarships are paid via financial aid. They are applied to the student’s fall and spring semester tuition costs
(half in fall 2015; half in spring 2016) providing the student is enrolled as full time. Students graduating in
December 2015 receive only half the scholarship award and, depending on the scholarship, only if they are
enrolled as full time students.
Should you be awarded a scholarship your essay will be given to the donor of the scholarship. All recipients
are required to write a thank you letter to their respective scholarship donors and submit it along with a signed
acceptance form to the Mayborn School of Journalism.
