Ridge Elementary Reading and Math RTI Procedures Tier 1: All students are considered Tier 1 students, we target students that are significantly below established targets. Tier 1 intervention is small group guided reading at the student’s level and differentiated instruction within the curriculum. If student is not making progress, classroom teacher will progress monitor using a DIBELS or AIMSweb progressing monitoring probe every 2 weeks. They will turn this probe into Tonya Daigle to be entered into AIMSweb to begin graphing progress. If the student has not shown progress after 6 data points (12 weeks)the classroom teacher will bring the following to the PLC meeting designated for RtI discussion: -Copy of the Aimsweb progress monitoring graph -A list of interventions already being done in the classroom to assist the student The PLC team will determine if the student should enter Tier 2. If the student is moved to Tier 2, the classroom teacher will send home a Notice of Tier 2 intervention form and provide a copy to Monica along with the Tier 1 documentation form (will be provided to teacher by Monica). If a student returns to Tier 1, the classroom teacher will continue to progress monitoring for 6 data points (12 weeks) to determine that the student’s scores are not dropping. Classroom teacher will continue to provide small group guided reading instruction at the child's level and differentiated instruction within the curriculum. RTI teacher will provide an additional 30 minutes of research based reading or math interventions a day. RTI teacher will progress monitor students using the appropriate DIBELS or AIMSweb assessment every two weeks. They will give the progress monitoring probes to Tonya Daigle to be entered into AIMSweb to track progress. RTI teacher will bring updated Aimsweb graphs to each PLC meeting designated for RtI discussions. Tier 2 students should be on Lexia for a minimum of 45 minutes per week if struggling in reading. If a student continues to not show progress after a total of 6 data points (12 weeks), discussions about moving the student to Tier 3 will be held at the PLC meeting designated for RtI discussion. If a student is not showing progress a referral to the Heath and Wellness team should be filled out by the classroom teacher with help from RtI teacher if a student is moved to Tier 3. If the student is making progress, the RTI team will discuss keeping the student in Tier 2 and/or moving the student back down to Tier 1. Classroom teacher will continue to provide small group guided reading at the child's level and differentiated instruction within the curriculum. RTI teacher will continue to provide an additional 30 minutes of research based reading or math interventions a day. The student will continue to be on Lexia for a minimum of 45 minutes per week if struggling in reading. A staff member will provide an additional 15 minutes of instruction in the deficit area per day. Tonya Daigle will progress monitor students in Tier 3 using the appropriate DIBELS or AIMSweb assessment every week and input those scores into Aimsweb to graph progress. The classroom teacher will bring updated Aimsweb graphs to each PLC meeting designated for RtI discussion. If a student is not showing progress after 6 data points (6 weeks) the intervention being used will change. If a student is not showing progress after 12 data points (12 weeks), the graph and all data collected will be resubmitted to the Health and Wellness Team for possible evaluation. If the student is making progress, the RTI team should discuss moving the student back down to Tier 2.
