Appendix 1: Procedural Notes
1. Withdrawal of Programme:
If the programme has received development consent it will have been allocated a PoS code and
so must be formally withdrawn, especially if it has been advertised and/or students made offers.
If the application is approved, LEAP will arrange for it to be removed from the UVP and PAC
Schedules and the following notified of the change:
 Head of Department (not for HUBS)
 Partner Institution’s programme proposer (if collaborative provision)
 Partner Institution HE Manager (if collaborative provision)
 Academic Contact (if collaborative provision)
 Head of Admissions
 Admissions Officer
 Director of Strategic Development Unit
 Head of Student Administration Services
 Student Records Officer
 PA to the Finance Director
 Head of MARCOMMS
 Faculty Administrator
 Dean
 Associate Dean L&T
2. Re-naming of Programme/Award
If the application is for a re-naming of programme/award, the original programme title must
follow the withdrawal procedures outlined above (to ensure cancellation of PoS code and
removal from the SIS). The original application for Development Consent, with the title change
highlighted, must be re-submitted along with this application form to the Director of LEAP. If the
application is approved, LEAP will arrange for the original Development Consent title to be
replaced with the new title on the UVP and PAC Schedules and the following notified of the
change:
 Head of Department (not for HUBS)
 Partner Institution’s programme proposer (if collaborative provision)
 Partner Institution HE Manager (if collaborative provision)
 Academic Contact (if collaborative provision)
 Head of Admissions
 Admissions Officer
 Director of Strategic Development Unit
 Head of Student Administration Services
 Student Records Officer
 PA to the Finance Director
 Head of MARCOMMS
 Faculty Administrator
 Dean
 Associate Dean L&T
3. Modification of programme specifications (but no renaming of programme)
If no re-naming of the programme is required, the programme does not need to be withdrawn as
the original PoS codes remain valid. If the programme documentation has not reached validation
3
stage, no further action needs to be taken and no changes to the UVP or PAC Schedules need
to be made. If the programme has already been recommended for validation approval by a UVP
(but not approved by PAC) the development team will be informed whether to apply for a minor
or major amendment to programme using existing forms. Depending on this recommendation,
the documentation may need to be re-submitted for validation and PAC approval delayed. LEAP
will arrange for the following to be informed of the outcome of the application:
 Head of Department (not for HUBS)
 Partner Institution’s programme proposer (if collaborative provision)
 Partner Institution HE Manager (if collaborative provision)
 Academic Contact (if collaborative provision)
 Faculty Administrator
 Dean
 Associate Dean L&T
If any delay in the commencement of delivery of the programme, LEAP will also notify the
following:
 Head of Admissions
 Admissions Officer
 Director of Strategic Development Unit
 Head of Student Administration Services
 Student Records Officer
 PA to the Finance Director
 Head of MARCOMMS
