Checklist HALF-TIME REVIEW Department of Clinical Neuroscience Read below how the halftime review should be performed. Don’t forget to send the original protocol for the halftime review to Eva Holmgaard, Tomtebodavägen 18 A, after the seminar. Application of half-time review is sent to Eva Holmgaard about a month before the event. The form is available on the CNS website: http://ki.se/cns/forskarutbildning. See the Department’s web page for more information regarding the application or contact Eva. After proposal by the supervisor, the Head of Department will appoint a board consisting of three researchers with adequate knowledge of the subject, and who are independent from the project and have obtained a doctoral degree. The board, together with the supervisors and the doctoral student, shall assess the prospects of the project leading to a doctoral degree, and propose any necessary changes to the individual study plan. The supervisors and the doctoral student ensure that the half-time board receives the documents in time, well in advance of the half-time seminar, at least 2 weeks prior. The half-time review consists of a seminar with a presentation held by the doctoral student in English, and a follow-up meeting where the board meets with the supervisors and the doctoral student and, if possible, the mentor, to review the progress. The following documents must be attached: A half-time summary, containing: A literature review of the research field (normally about 8 pages excluding references); Description of the scientific progress and the progress of learning within the doctoral education project (2-4 pages); Plan for the future doctoral education (1-2 pages); Reflection about ethical considerations within the project Updated study plan with future time plan (the original or if there is one, an updated study plan) Excerpts from Ladok (a new print out of UT90) to ensure that all completed courses are documented, that the name is correct and that the activity is documented Copies of the annual reviews of the study plan Copies of all ethical permits (both the applications and the permits) Copies of papers and manuscripts to be included in the halftime review AT LEAST 7.5 HP COMPLETED COURSES for students registered after 980701 BOOK A ROOM ANNOUNCE IN THE KI CALENDAR AND IN THE CNS CALENDAR 2015-02-24 (contact person: Anders Ihrfors) Bob Harris Director of Research Training General information see Internwebben: https://internwebben.ki.se/en/half-time-review-0 How many and which course credits that must be completed before half-time review is stated in the general study plan.
