Application Form
Please type or use uppercase letters
The Political Science Junior Fellows Program pairs faculty and graduate students in the dissertationwriting stage with advanced and highly qualified undergraduate students seeking to supplement their
formal training with one-on-one research experience. Competitive students will have Senior and Junior
standing with a minimum 3.5 GPA and have demonstrated their interest in political science through their
coursework. All applicants must submit this application form along with a CV or resume and a one-page
statement explaining why they would like to be a Junior Fellow, the sorts of research topics/methods they
are interested in, and what they would like to get out of the research collaboration. Faculty may nominate
past and current students to take part in the Junior Fellow Program - especially if they have a student in
mind with whom they would like to work. Open pool applicants will be matched on a competitive basis and
according to the research needs of the Department. Junior Fellows will be appointed for one semester but
may continue to work with their assigned professor/graduate student as long as both agree -or- they may
reapply to work with another professor/graduate student. Applications are due April 1 for the Fall
semester and November 1 for the Spring semester. You may hand-in or send applications to Senior
Secretary, 234 Anderson Hall, PO Box 117325, Gainesville, FL 32611-7325, or via email: proot@ufl.edu
