The regular meeting of the Handy Township Board of Trustees was called to order in
the Handy Township Boardroom by Supervisor Vaupel at 7:30 P.M. Members present:
Eisele, Tesch, Munsell and Frazier. Absent: None. Also present: Township Attorney –
Kehoe.
Approval of Agenda

MOTION MUNSELL SUPPORT EISELE TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF
FEBRUARY 23, 2012 AS PRESENTED. MOTION CARRIED.
Approval of Bills
Transfers in the amount of $6,839.16 are needed.
MOTION EISELE SUPPORT TESCH TO APPROVE THE TRANSFER OF
$6,839.16 FROM CONTINGENCY FUND #101-890-999 TO FUND # 101-253-970
CHARGEBACKS IN THE AMOUNT OF $776.82, TO FUND #101-262-702
ELECTION-WAGES IN THE AMOUNT OF $6000.00 AND TO FUND
#101-262-962 SUPPLIES-WAGES IN THE AMOUNT OF $62.34.
MOTION CARRIED.
Bills in the amount of $54,515.43
MOTION EISELE SUPPORT TESCH TO APPROVE THE BILLS OF
MARCH 6, 2012 IN THE AMOUNT OF $54,515.43 TO BE PAID FROM
THE APPROPRIATE ACCOUNTS. MOTION CARRIED.

Pending Business
A) Sewer / Water Report
Livingston County passed resolution for refunding of sewer bonds.
Contract for Water Plant passed out to Trustees to review. Will address next
month.
B) Zoning Administrator’s Report
Report presented and reviewed.
C) Assessor’s Report
Board of Review organizational meeting was this morning. Board of Review
will start next week.
D) Community Education and Recreation Report
No report. Meeting is tomorrow.
E) Roads
a. 2012 Chloride Bids
Three bids were reviewed.
MOTION FRAZIER SUPPORT EISELE TO CONTRACT FOR THE 2012
CHLORIDE APPLICATIONS WITH MICHIGAN CHLORIDE. MOTION
CARRIED.
Bid for finishing blacktop on Van Buren Road will be about $110,000.00.
MOTION EISELE SUPPORT FRAZIER TO REQUEST CONTRACT WITH
LIVINGSTON COUNTY ROAD COMMISSION FOR WORK ON VANBUREN
ROAD FROM GREGORY TO NICHOLSON. MOTION CARRIED.
Supervisor Vaupel has ridden the roads, they are in decent shape this year since it has
been a mild winter, have not received any contracts for road work yet.

New Business
A) Fowlerville Senior Center Request for Funding Assistance
MOTION FRAZIER SUPPORT EISELE TO DIRECT ATTORNEY KEHOE TO
DRAW UP CONTRACT FOR THE FOWLERVILLE SENIOR CENTER AND TO
REQUEST A REPRESENTATIVE BE PRESENT AT THE NEXT BOARD

B) Supervisor’s Report
Update on lawsuits.
C) Treasurer’s Report
Report presented and reviewed.
Two personal property taxes were turned over to Attorney Kehoe.
Handy Township was the second township to turn in taxes to County for
settlement.
a. Settlement Letter Report for Livingston County
RE: Withholding Special Assessments
Board may want to consider this for next year.
D) Clerk’s Report
Election went well. Clerk and Deputy Clerk went to County to watch the
Board of Canvassers review our election results. They were pleased with
Handy Township.
Extended Public Comments
Jerry House at Livingston County Road Commission will be retiring in June.
Correspondence
A) Conway Township Notice of Intent to Update their Master Plan dated
February 20, 2012
