Duty Manager - National Aquatic Centre The National Aquatic Centre, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15 is one of the finest Aquatic Centre’s in Europe. Opened in Spring 2003, it combines superb international standard competition pools with extensive leisure waters and a superb Gymnasium facility. The impetus for the Centre arose from the need to provide world-class facilities for the Special Olympics World Games 2003. Our vision is to be the leading Aquatic and Leisure Facility in Ireland. The National Aquatic Centre is split into 3 distinct areas – AquaZone, Irelands largest indoor Leisure Pool and Water Park, ToneZone, our large luxury Gym including our private members Health Suite, and the International Competition Pool, which consists of Ireland’s largest 50metre Swimming pool (with moving floors – which splits into 3 separate pools) and additionally, Ireland’s only Olympic standard Diving Tank and Boards. In 2008 the National Aquatic Centre attracted over 707,000 visitors making it one of Ireland’s most popular attractions We are now looking to fill the role of Duty Manager to maintain our status as Ireland’s leading Aquatic & Leisure facility. Key Purpose of the Job To assist the General Manager in the day to day running of the National Aquatic Centre, having responsibility for the management of staff on designated shift periods, and to ensure that the health and safety of staff and users is maintained at all times and to ensure delivery of the best service standards to the customers. The main aspects of the role will include: Provide Line Management experience whilst on shift and assure direct line management for an assigned area e.g. Lifeguards, Pool Attendants, Health and Safety, Cleaning and Reception; Be aware of any practices or situations prejudicial to health, safety and welfare of members, guests and the public and to report such instances to the General Manager; Assist with staff training and record all training; Ensure appropriate stocks, supplies and equipment is maintained. Ensure that cleaning schedules are completed to provide a high standard of service for all areas during operational hours; Ensure that all customers are awarded the highest priority in the delivery of the service and that a culture of quality is fostered in all staff; Be aware of the companies’ Equal Opportunities policy and to supervise and support staff in the implementation with regard to all customers and other members of staff; Assist the General Manager in the recruitment, selection, development and motivation of staff as appropriate; Undertake other duties appropriate to the grading of the post as required; This is a shift role working 5 days over 7; Duty Managers maintain full control and responsibility for all aspects of the business when managing their shift.
