▪ Used two strains of E. coli to demonstrate the process of genetic transfer (E. coli Hfr strain sensitive to
streptomycin, and E.coli strain resistant to streptomycin)

▪ Transferred donor genes to recipient by conjugation produced recombinant bacteria that did not require
amino acid for growth and are resistant to streptomycin
