What time do the movies start and how long do they run for?
Each movie screening will commence just after sunset (between approximately 8.30pm and 8.45pm
depending on how bright the day is). Pre-screening entertainment will be held from 8pm.
The duration of each film is:
 The Labyrinth: 101 minutes
 Singin’ in the Rain: 103 minutes
 Dirty Dancing: 100 minutes

Are these movies suitable for children?
All the movies screened at Summertime Cinema 2015 have either a G or PG rating.
G (General) is suitable for everyone.
PG (Parental Guidance) is an advisory classification and defined as mild content. PG films contain material
that a parent or carer might need to explain to younger children.

What happens in the case of extreme weather conditions?
Summertime Cinema is an outdoor event and subject to adverse weather conditions including extreme heat
and wet weather.
In the case of extreme weather conditions this event may be cancelled. Please call 9278 4444 or visit
www.boroondara.vic.gov.au/summertime-cinema on the morning of the event for further information.

Can l bring my dog?
Dogs are permitted at the Summertime Cinema screenings but must be kept on a short leash at all times and
are the responsibility of the owner. As this is a public event the owner is required to clean up after the dog and
respect other attendees by keeping the dog under control at all times.
Owners not controlling their dog may be asked to leave.

Do I bring my own chair?
Limited seating will be available at the screenings. These are taken on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis and
cannot be reserved in advance.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets, cushions and rugs to the screenings.
Low beach chairs are also appropriate, so long as they don't have any legs. Should you need to bring a chair
with legs, you will be placed towards the back so as not to obstruct anyone's view.
6.
Is Summertime Cinema BYO?
Bringing your own food and drinks, including alcohol, is permitted. If possible please bring plastic glasses.
Please be mindful of your surroundings and take your rubbish with you.
7.
Will food and drinks be available to buy?
A variety of food as well as hot and cold beverages will be available for purchase at the Summertime Cinema
venues.
No alcohol will be available for sale.
8.
Is smoking allowed?
Summertime Cinema screenings are a smoke free environment. However, there are sections away from the
seating areas where smoking is permitted.
9.
Is there parking available?
Summertime Cinema will be held around various parks and gardens including
 Greythorn Park, North Balwyn (Melway ref 46 G3)
 Riversdale Park, Camberwell (Melway ref 60 B1)
 Central Gardens, Hawthorn (Melway ref 45 E10)
There is limited on site parking options at Greythorn Park and Central Gardens and limited off street parking
available at Riversdale Park.
Once parking is exhausted, patrons will need to park on the street. Please be mindful of residents when
parking and leaving Summertime Cinema.

How do l get there by public transport?
Each Summertime Cinema venue is within walking distance of tram and/or bus routes.
You can plan your journey using Public Transport Victoria’s Journey Planner (ptv.vic.gov.au)
The nearest public transport routes to each park are:
 Greythorn Park, North Balwyn
o Bus 284 towards Box Hill
Directions: Get off at stop Sweyn St/Greythorn Road (Balwyn North)
Walk along Greythorn Road, turn right at Frank Street, continue onto Greythorn Park.
 Riversdale Park, Camberwell

Tram 70 towards Wattle Park via Swan Street
Directions: Get off at stop 47 - Willow Grove/Riversdale Road (Canterbury)
Continue along Riversdale Road, turn right at Anniversary Outer Circle Trail, continue onto Riversdale

Directions: Get off at Riversdale Station.
Continue along Wandin Road, turn left at Riversdale Road, turn left at Spencer Road, take sharp right
at Anniversary Outer Circle Trail, continue onto Riversdale Park

Directions: Get off at Auburn Railway Station (Hawthorn)
