Dear Artist:
With the support of artists from around the world, Guanlan International Print Biennial has been
successfully conducted 4 times. Set to occur in May 2015, the 5th is forthcoming. This biennial
will focus on artistic and academic ability, and promote creative and individual work style. A high
level and superior quality of art works will be selected for the exhibition. Simultaneously, we will
hold a Thematic Invitational Exhibition in order to strengthen the academic relevance. China
Printmaking Museum will be served as a permanent exhibition venue, providing a more broad
and professional selection as well as act as a display space for the biennial. We hope that the
biennial can act as a platform for Guanlan and provide a window for Chinese people to
understand the world and the world to understand China. This should enhance the exchange
among artists around the world. We sincerely invite you to participate in the exhibition and thank

Regulations for Participants:
1. Submitted works of each artist are limited to 1 or 2 original print works created within the two
years prior to the exhibition. All print techniques will be accepted. The works should be signed
and do not need to be framed.
2. The image size of the works shall not exceed 120×180cm and should larger than 30×30cm. A
set of work consist of two or three separate prints (such as triptych) also cannot surpass this limit.
3. For education, promotion and publicity purposes, the organizers may use submitted photos of
the works. Organizers will hold the image copyright and the images can be uesd by the organizer
for media, promotional and publishing purposes, in the longer term.
4. For participation, artists should fill in an application by typing the information into the entry form.
If you are not able to use a computer, please write clearly in block letters, especially in the name,
address and email sections. Don’t forget to submit an art resume and head shot.
5. Works should be packed in sturdy tube or thick flat boards with a label indicating “Printed
matter. No Commercial Value.” Works should be arrived before February 10, 2015. To avoid
your work being detained by customs,please declare the lowest value when posting.
6. We don't charge any entry fee.The expenses for the delivery of work to Guanlan will be the
responsibility of the participating artists; the expenses for returning works will be the
responsibility of the organizers.
7. During the period between the receipt of the works and the return of the works, the organizers
are responsible for the insurance. The organizers will not be responsible for compensation for
the damages or losses caused by natural disasters, or during transit.
8. All the works will be returned within three months after the completion of the Exhibition, except
prize winning works, donated and collected works.
9. The Organizing Committee has the sole right to the interpretation of all items of this Biennial.
Application:
Artists from all over the world can submit works. Artists who wish to take part should fill out the
registration form and send 1-2 works created in the last two years. Chinese artists should send
the digital image of the work first while overseas artists send actual works directly.
Selection:
Preliminary Selection: The jury committee makes Preliminary Selection among the works during
early March, 2015.
Final Selection: The Chinese and foreign experts to form a Final Selection Board, and select the
participating works and Award Winning works during early April, 2015 and then announce the
results.
Prizes:
This Biennial will issue 15 “Guanlan International Print Prize”. The prized works will be selected
by a jury committee and acquired by the organizing committee. Prize winners will receive an
Acquisition Certificate, a Prize Certificate and 30000RMB. Artists who’s works are selected for
the exhibition will receive a Participation Certificate, and one catalog of the biennial works. The
organizing committee will invite the prize winners to participate in the opening ceremony and
academic forum and be responsible for the accommodation. The committee accepts donations
of works, and may also select further works for the collection for the Guanlan International Print
Biennial. We will contact you if your work is chosen.
