UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS, AUSTIN, TX
RESEARCH ASSOCIATE, 1982 - 1986







Graduate student at the University of Texas at Austin, worked with Prof. Jeff
Kimble, Quantum-Optics
Developed a general external cavity laser frequency stabilizer for dye laser
resulting in the world's most stable externally stabilized dye laser (1.6 KHz RMS
frequency deviation) at the time
Laser was a factor of 500 improvement over the factory model dye laser
The stable dye laser was developed to aid research at the Kimble Lab on optical
squeezed states and quantum optical research
Work at the Kimble lab involved a broad application of opto-mechanical,
electro-optical, electronic and radio frequency techniques
Developed specific RF techniques for the detection of optical squeezed states
At the Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics (JILA) Boulder ,Co. worked with
Prof. J. L. Hall to develop a frequency stabilized version of an Argon ion laser
