Primary Purpose:
Serve as instructional leader in development and improvement of instructional programs in core content
academics as well as career/college readiness. Manage secondary advanced academics and advanced
placement programs. Serve as district liaison for the Everman Collegiate High School Program.
Secondary Purpose:
Direct and manage district career and technology education (CTE) programs and facilities to meet student
needs. Supervise and support district programming to enhance career pathways and certification
programs.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master's Degree
Texas Mid-Management Certification
Superintendent Certification Preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to organize and coordinate secondary instruction and vertical alignment in the core content areas
Capacity to interpret assessment data and special program data to evaluate student achievement
Aptitude to manage state and federal CTE budget and compliance issues
Exhibit strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with dual credit, college readiness, and ECHS programs
Experience:
Three years teaching experience at secondary level
Five years secondary campus principal experience and/or central office leadership experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Management
1. Ensure that student progress is evaluated on a regular, systematic basis, and that findings are used to
make CTE and the district secondary program more effective.
2. Facilitate planning and application of technologies in CTE and secondary program.
3.
Encourage and support the development and implementation of innovative instructional CTE and
secondary programs.
4.
Plan the necessary time, resources, and materials to support CTE and secondary staff in
accomplishing identified educational goals and student achievement.
5.
Obtain and use evaluative findings (including student achievement data) to gauge
program effectiveness for the secondary core content areas and CTE.
6.
Ensure that CTE and secondary curriculum renewal is continuous and responsive to student needs.
7. Provide career exploration and awareness resources and testing materials to all campuses.
8. Communicate the district vision and implementation status of college and career readiness programs
to stakeholders and the community
9. Assume responsibility for career and technology education facilities and coordinate needed repairs

Policy, Reports, and Law
15. Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents
required, including required financial reports to TEA.
16. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local
board policy.
Budget
17. Administer the career and technology budget and ensure that programs are cost effective and that
funds are managed prudently
18. Compile budgets and cost estimates based on documented program needs.
Personnel Management
19. Prepare, review, and revise job descriptions of career and technology department.
20. Develop training options and/or improvement plans to ensure operation of career and technology
education department.
21. Provides input to the evaluation of job performance of employees to ensure effectiveness.
22. Participate in recruitment, selection, and training of personnel. Make sound recommendations about
personnel placement, transfer, retention, discipline, and dismissal.
Communication and Community Support
23. Assist students, parents, and teachers with career, college, and scholarship information.
24. Recruit employers and businesses to provide learning experience to students and provide assistance as
necessary.
25. Articulate the district's mission and goals in career and technology and secondary education to
community and solicit its support in realizing mission.
26. Demonstrate awareness of district-community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs.
27. Use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.
28. Serve as liaison to institutes of higher education to increase college acceptance rates.
29. Assist students, campus personnel, and UTA interns with maintenance of the Go Center
State/Federal Program Management
30. Serve as liaison between school and other agencies on joint projects that are state/federal funded.
31. Consult with administrators, counselors, teachers, community agencies, and other relevant individuals
regarding federal/special programs.
32. Solicit federal funds and participate in grant-writing activities to obtain funding for federal/special
programs and services.
33. Monitor grant-funded programs and their expenditures to ensure compliance with regulations and
guidelines.
34. Prioritize tasks and meet all deadlines for preparation and submission of grant applications and
grant-related reports.
35. Review guidelines for eligibility requirements, disseminate information, and explain grant restrictions,
regulations, priorities, and deadlines to administrators and staff.
36. Ensure that programs are cost effective and that state/federal programs are managed wisely

38. Prepare Carl Perkins application and ensure compliance with federal requirements
