Your local media can make all the difference to the success of your Great Brew Break event by encouraging people to attend, donate money or just raise the profile of what you’re doing to support Royal Voluntary Service. If you’re holding a public event, your local paper, TV, or radio station is a great way to invite people, and with both private and public events, the release and a photo after your event will help spread the word about the great cause you’ve been raising money for. Top tips for contacting your local media Use the press release template below to get your local media on board It’s a good idea to contact your local paper, TV and radio station about a week before your event You’ll find the email and phone numbers for your local media on their websites or in the paper itself.
