Procedure: Students will be further researching Ancient Rome in class and
at home to create an illustrated alphabet picture book.
Some time will be given during class throughout our chapters on Ancient

wisely, you should not have too much to do at home unless you choose to
type your book.
Requirements:
Cover – Bold, neat, easy to read, correctly spelled title and author’s name,
and a color illustration
Dedication – Your book should be dedicated to the Roman Empire…you
can pick a specific historical figure if you want. Make sure your dedication
targets specific gifts/legacies given to us by the Romans. **You can also
include a quote on this page too**
Body of book –
 Each letter of the alphabet is to have its own page with neatly done
color illustrations (may be hand drawn and colored, cut from
magazines or printed from a computer), and a neat, easy to read,
description of the person, place, or thing you are writing about.
 You must have at least 3 sentences per letter. You must use proper
punctuation, grammar, verb tense and spelling.
Each letter should include the following… 1) Definition of the word 2)

Details of book –. Your book does not have to be typed but it may be. You
will not be given any time during Social Studies to type your book. Typing
your book will not get you any extra points.
***You MAY NOT glue your note cards onto the paper and consider that
your book! You will not receive ANY credit for the project grade if you do
that! (Yes, that means you will receive a 0% as a project grade!)
