LEADERS’ LIVESTOCK AND HORSE CAMP

Have you ever gone to beef, sheep, swine or horse camp with your kids and think, I’d like to learn all of that stuff too? You’re in luck! That’s exactly what a statewide team of 4-H agents would like to do for all Colorado 4-H leaders.

Each day will feature project skill learning on a different large animal including horse, beef, sheep, and swine. This will be hands-on instruction, so come prepared to work with animals. For those of you doing the horse portion of the camp, bringing a horse will be especially important, as riding and training techniques will be the main focus on this day. The other animals will be provided, or you may bring your own if you have one available at that time.

This camp is designed to specifically teach 4-H project leaders the skills they need to help their 4-H members succeed in their project areas.

Record book keeping, selection, grooming, fitting, and showmanship will all be taught at the day long sessions. Each session will be led by skilled instructors from around the state. More information will be sent to those who register for this 3 day workshop. COST: $10 per day or $25 for all three days. Limited to 25 participants.
