*PONY CLUB ACHIEVEMENT BADGES*
The Pony club Achievement Badges are designed to help and
support
instructors in teaching basic knowledge of Horse and Pony
Care to D plus and C Test Levels. as well as giving
members a chance to improve their general knowledge of
the countryside and the environment.
Mini Badges these are for the younger children who have their E or D
Tests.
Pony Club has now created a test syllabus for all the
badges. So at forth coming Dismounted Rallies the
instructors will be teaching towards a set badge or
badges ( some badges are interlinked) so
that members can then book themselves in for test days.
*Christmas Dismounted Rally*:- _*(D plus and C Test
Level*_) Instruction towards Bandaging and Rugs and
Loading.
_*Syllabus Bandaging and Rugs*_:
To put on and take off travel bandages, a tail bandage, a
stable rug and roller and a turnout rug.

Although mainly a practical test you will also be asked
to identify
other types off rugs and when you might use them and for
what purpose e.g sweat rug or cooler and the importance
of not bandaging too loosely or tightly.

_*Syllabus of Loading :- *_To know how to load/unload a
pony, with
assistance, safely into and out of a trailer/horsebox.
Key Points:wearing the correct clothing e.g. hat, gloves, boots. you
and your assistant.
stability of the trailer/box ramp
preparation of the pony for loading. e.g travel
bandages, tail bandages, travel rug. (this part of the
test can lead on from the one above.)
identify other equipment you might use e.g travel
boots, lunge line, easy loader.
Perform the act on loading with an older/physically
bigger person. (provide someone to help you)
Although mainly a practical test you will also be asked
about what you
should check your trailer/box for each time you use it,
e.g lights,
tyres, floor and having a suitable size vehicle for
towing it. and how
often it is advised that you get your trailer/box
serviced.
