JOB DESCRIPTIONS Special Actions Team o Organizes group involvement projects o Plans and develops Summer Leadership School o Runs Summer Leadership School: Act as CTO’s o Completes other tasks as instructed by staff or instructors Special Projects Element o Manage group schedules o Search for community involvement activities through Community Outreach o Manage Recruiting, Retention, and Recognition program Scheduling Element o Maintain service, activity, and academic calendars Community Outreach o Manages the group’s community service program o Designates POC’s for each event Technology Support Flight Chief o Maintains group website o Develop audio/visual training aid materials Information Management Flight Commander o Supervises all flight members o Authenticate, post, and distribute all special orders o Manage an internal distribution system o Develop, reproduce, and distribute cadet correspondence and publications Historian Element o Maintains annual record of the following: Roster of all cadets in group broken down by flight All individual awards and decorations National awards and decorations Staff members first and second semesters all the way to the rep level Disciplinary actions Staff meetings minutes All grades per flight per nine weeks Service/activity hours per flight per nine weeks All service and activity events for the year All news reports pertaining to the group Copy of each Spark Extracurricular events attended and results Extracurricular team members All fight awards (aka streamers) Booster Club members POC’s of events Promotions Element o Maintain proper rank chart o Prepare master promotion board sheet o Prepare promotion certificates o Ensure adequate rank supplies for promotions through LG o Setup promotion board room Website Support Element Leader o Maintains website Audio/Visual Support Element o Develop A/V training aid materials Equipment Custodian o Maintain all JROTC equipment o Keeps updated inventory of all JROTC equipment Uniform Element Leader o Keeps updated inventory on all uniform items Yearbook Element Leader o Produces annual yearbook for group News Element Leader o Produces news articles for Boerne Star, School Newspaper, Spark, and website news page Photography Element Leader o Assign cadets to photograph all group events Train Flight Commander o Coordinate all training flight efforts and organize flight tasking by urgency o Create new training flight responsibilities with group commander o Act as liaison between group commander and the training flight o Maintain Training Flight continuity files o Release policy letters to the group as mandated by the group commander Deputy Flight commander o Act as training flight commander in his/her absence o Act as liaison between training flight commander and training flight o Schedule and run all training flight meetings o Assist training flight commander in the maintenance of continuity files Leadership Development Element o Create CLF's (Cadet Leadership Files) o Create and circulate questionnaire to group to gather the information necessary for CLF's o Create a handout for every cadet regarding ways to move closer to the goals listed in their CLF's as mandated by Training Flight Commander o Regulate the information taught at the Future Military Officer's Club FMOC Head o Publicize FMOC to the rest of the student body o Schedule FMOC meetings as mandated by training flight commander o Establish, update, and teach the necessary FMOC curriculum Quality Control Element o Establish a date by which all incoming group leaders must be familiar with the responsibilities and processes relative to their positions o Using materials endorsed by AETC (Air Education Training Command), SASI (Senior Aerospace Science Instructor), and group commander, create lessons/testing materials relevant to the different cadet tiers (Noncommissioned Officers, Senior Noncommissioned Officers, and Commissioned Officers.) o Establish and administer tests to determine a cadet's ability to perform in their position and report results to training flight commander o Reports all testing results to Leadership Development Element Academic Element o Appoints academic representatives who excel in specific subjects to be “on call” if cadets need or are ordered by the SASI or ASI to seek academic assistance o Establish “Zero Hour” tutoring program o Reports results and cadet progress to training flight commander, information management flight commander, and SASI o Devise strategies to raise flight academic averages o Monitor flight academic averages for improvement
