6thAnnual Networking Night
March 22nd, 2011
5:30pm-8:00pm
Student Union Auditorium
What is Networking Night?
Networking Night is a social event designed to strengthen relationships and encourage
networking between professional sales students, recruiters, and sales faculty. This exciting
recruiting event will give you access to our 280 professional sales majors, minors, pre-sales
majors, and MBA concentrations. Students currently enrolled in an undergraduate
professional sales class are required to attend this event and meet multiple firms.
Why Your Organization Should Attend Networking Night
The number of non-retail salespeople is expected to grow 7-19% through 2014. We have
heard from recruiting, talent management, and sales management people in our business
community that building and managing a talent pipeline is a huge challenge. The Edward H.
Schmidt School of Professional Sales (ESSPS) wants to continue to be your partner and resource
for frontline sales talent and invites you to attend our annual Networking Night.
Agenda
5:00-5:30pm Recruiters check-in
5:30-6:00pm Recruiters served
6:00-8:00pm Networking
Costs
$300 table fee covers seating for up to four team members, a listing in the event
program, and helps pay for the event’s appetizers. All attendees will be given an event
program that lists all of the participating organizations. Event programs will be given to
the students 1-2 weeks before the event.
No charge for Corporate Partners (complimentary advertising space is determined by
partnership level). See the online registration form for more details on ESSPS Corporate
Partners and Networking Night.
Additional Advertising Space
If your company would like additional advertising space in the event program, space is
available for 1/8 page to a full page (1/8 - $50, ¼ page - $75, ½ page - $100, and full
page - $200). Corporate Partners can upgrade their ad size by paying the difference.
How to Register and Next Steps
Register online (Events page at www.sales.utoledo.edu) by January 31st to be
included in the event program that all students receive 1-2 weeks before the event
(ad copy due by the same date). Registrations without inclusion in the event program
will be accepted until March 18th.
A confirmation email with event guidelines will be sent 1-2 days after receiving your
registration.
If your organization attended in the past, and you would like to re-use the same program
content and advertisement copy, please contact Deirdre Jones, Associate Director, at
Deirdre.Jones@utoledo.edu.
When to Arrive and What to Bring
We suggest arriving between 5:00pm-5:30pm so you can setup and enjoy some appetizers before
the doors open to students at 6:00pm. Company name cards will be provided on the tables. You
may bring small table top displays, corporate brochures/flyers/promotional items, job
descriptions, and/or business cards.
What to Expect from Students
Students will be professionally dressed and have been strongly advised to bring resumes and
business cards. Networking Night is designed to have more social interaction than a job fair, so
we are using round skirted tables and serving appetizers. Students are encouraged to sit down
and have conversations with recruiters. They will be interested in learning about sales careers
(your’s and in general) and opportunities (current and future) at your organization.
Refreshment
Hot and cold appetizers and beverages will be provided
Directions to Campus and Student Union
http://utoledo.edu/campus/maps/index.html - There is a link to a main campus map on the left
menu if you would like to see/use a map. Once you enter the Student Union, there will be
students present to guide you to the Auditorium. The Auditorium is the same room that is used
for our college career fairs.
Parking
Please refer to the campus map on the preceding web link and park in lot 10 or 5. These lots are
the closest to the Student Union and will not be ticketed for permits from 4-10pm on the
evening of Networking Night.
