LOCATION
With a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean and a short
walk to gorgeous South Carlsbad State beaches, the ocean
is integrated in the very identity of the Resort. Sitting at
the crest of a series of gently rolling berms, the Resort
takes full advantage of its western exposure and sweeping
ocean views.
DESIGN & DECOR
The Resort architecture was inspired by the work of the
famous architects Charles and Henry Greene whose
interest in wood and metal work while studying
architecture at MIT in the late 1800s merged with the
inspiration from examples of Japanese architecture at the
World’s Columbian Exhibition in 1892.
The architecture firm of Greene & Greene, started in the
early 1900s in Pasadena, is credited for creating the
Southern Californian Craftsman Architecture such as the

famous Gabel House in Pasadena. Inspired by their work,
the Hilton Carlsbad Oceanfront Resort and Spa went a step
further and integrated comfort, modernity and new
construction technology to the traditional Southern
Californian Craftsman style.
The result is a stunning example of contemporary
Craftsman architecture - built the way the Greene Brothers
might do it today.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Features 207 deluxe rooms, many with panoramic ocean
views and an average size of 415 square feet, and 8 oneand two-bedroom ocean view suites ranging in size from
850 to 1,425 square feet. Total room count is 215 of which
81 are connecting rooms and 17 accessible rooms (7 fully
accessible, 3 fully accessible with roll in showers and 7
hearing impaired.) Room décor is consistent with
contemporary craftsman theme of the design of the hotel.
Carpets are of rust colors and warm gold hues while
draperies pull in hallway accent colors of ocean blues and
greens and the sheers feature a small scale embroidered
pattern reminiscent of vines or kelp. Wall coverings and
headboard features subtle metallic look.

For more intimate gatherings, the Private Dining Room, an
ocean view, outdoor covered terrace, can accommodate
up to 40 people.
The Wine Room allows guests to personally select their
favorite wine from a spectacular world-class selection of
wines. Superior, knowledgeable and attentive service,
never transcending into overly formal, will enhance the
quality of the dining experience and provide guests with
an unparalleled memorable experience.
