Hand Washing and Gloves Policy
D 1.2.1 – Hand Washing and Gloves Policy
PAGE: 1 OF 1
1. Proper hand washing procedures must be followed before putting on gloves.
Wash your hands with soap and water for 30 seconds and then dry with a paper
towel before wearing gloves.
2. All employees working in the production area shall wear gloves where required
before commencing work in the respective areas.
3. Ensure that the gloves worn are the correct size to prevent gloves from coming off
or tearing.
4. All used gloves should be disposed in the garbage can provided instead of leaving
them in the hand washing sinks, tables, equipment or other locations.
5. When removing gloves from hands, stand near the garbage can and put gloves
into receptacle. Do not throw gloves across the room into the garbage cans.
6. Do not reuse gloves once they have been removed from the hands. Wash hands
before putting on a new pair of gloves.
7. Extra gloves should not be carried in the pockets of work clothes due to the
probability of gloves falling unnoticed into equipment or finished products.
8. Employees will notify Production Manager or Supervisor immediately if a glove or
any other part of glove is lost.
9. Employees must remove all gloves when leaving the production area.
10. Before leaving the production floor, for the break, going to the washroom, or
leaving for home, and for any reason, all employees will wash their hands at the
hand washing stations, according to procedure. Failing to follow this policy,
appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.
