Nail extension course times:
9.30AM to 4.30PM (15 minutes to collect kit, if applicable)
If a nail extension kit is required, please arrive 15 minutes early so you are able to visit the
Aston and Fincher beauty wholesale department located in the same building.
Nail extension students should bring a model for the course as this is recommended to
gain the most experience on the day, especially for gel nails although the nail trainer
hand is available if you are having any difficulty.

The following ‘terms and conditions’ apply to all Northern College students, please read.

Any materials, workbooks and hand-outs supplied by the ‘Northern College of Beauty’
must not be reproduced, copied in any way or given to any person not attending NCB
courses, without written permission from the principal or general manager. All
materials are the “Copyright” of the college.
The candidate/student or tutor must not utilise any course materials that would infringe
on the college’s copyright.
The student/candidate must undertake not to act in any way that would bring dishonour
to, or lower the prestige of the college.
The student/candidate must undertake to maintain a proper appearance and manner
while training at any of the college’s centres.
Appropriate working uniform should be worn for all courses including nail extension
courses. White uniforms (dresses or tunics with trousers) can be purchased, if required,
in the wholesale department located in each centre, if you do not already have one, or
cannot borrow one.
Orders must be made in advance, please ring head office for
your local warehouse phone number. Alternatively students own WHITE clothing may
be worn for short NCB courses (not for IHBC/IIHHT/NVQ), ring head office for details.
(E.G.: while shirt with short sleeves & black/navy trousers) Shoes should be covered-in
and not have any cut-out toe areas or high heels. This is to conform to safety regulations.
Students attending all courses are not permitted to wear trainers or similar footwear or
socks. No head-gear, jewellery or false nails should be worn for beauty/holistic courses.
The college reserves the right to change any of the course’s content, course materials,
tutor, training dates/days, venue and requirements to maintain standards, to fall in line
with industry requirements or due to any unforeseen circumstances.
£25.00 (non-refundable) of fee retained on cancellation of each course booked, or £50.00
cancellation fee if cancelled within 14 days or less of booked course date (first day).
Students who postpone or cannot attend a course, without giving 14 days notice in
writing, may incur a penalty and must rebook within 6 months or fee will have to be
paid again. Anyone failing to attend a course without giving required notice will need to
apply/pay for course again and arrange for a further date. (No guarantee can be made
for length of wait for next available date if this occurs, but we will endeavour to make
the wait as short as possible depending on availability.) General manager or principal
will take individual situation/course availability into consideration. No refunds will be
made once training has commenced, but we will endeavour to make available a further
date, if you are unable to attend the dates booked if prior notice is given (see above).
Courses /subjects cannot be changed once training has started.
Students should bring models/clients to work-on during training; it is the responsibility
of the students to bring models to work on. No guarantee can be made for this provision
and it is a requirement on all courses for students to arrange for models to work on
during the training/assessment sessions also. IMPORTANT Please ring head office in
advance, to let us know the times of your models arrival. If any student has problems
arranging this, please ring head office at least 1 week prior to course.
Kit required for nail extension courses, ring head office.
If student is taking VTCT or NVQ nail extension assessments, different clients will be
needed to gain the qualification. Speak with head office for details if required.
Please ask about products or equipment for other courses as this may apply in certain
cases.
All students applying for a funded training course must come in for a pre-course
interview, please ring head office for details.
For IHBC/IIHHT qualifications, no more than 3 months should elapse between training
and first assessment, or re-training may be required at the daily rate. Practice and case
studies should be on-going during this time and contact with the college should be made
if any problems arise.
For NVQ or IIHHT courses £12.00 for a one-off lifetime registration is payable.
(Only when applying for: NVQ, IHBC. IIHHT, but not NCB in-house courses) Unless
previously registered with VAI or VTCT, please add to payment if applicable.

The NCB reserves the right to change dates, tutors or prices without notice, under
extreme conditions, if necessary, but will offer students an alternative date or venue.

All cancellation/postponements should be in writing to the principals.
NCB courses are paid in full prior to course.
IIHHT and NVQ courses can be paid, by 2 post-dated dated cheques.
ALL the post-dated cheques should be sent together with the application form to secure
a place, within 14 working days of course start date, unless by prior agreement with
Management.
We can only guarantee a place on a course if payment has been received and cleared, for
late payments please ring head office.
If you require us to order a nail extension kit, please clearly state the system you
require, or we will presume you want to do acrylic overlay if it is a 1-system nail
extension course that you have applied for.
Kits allow you to perform a number of applications, the amount of sets will greatly
depend on individual use, and all kits are paid to Aston and Fincher hair and beauty
wholesalers.
 As a training college we do not supply products or equipment, but can offer advise.
Students should contact head office regarding models prior to any course.
Clients/models are required for training, assessments if applicable and practice; please
contact the college if details are required. The nail trainer hand can also be used on
some nail extension courses although it is preferable to use a model/client.
(For gel it is advisable to use a client/model) or ring head office for more details.

Directions to the Liverpool training centre and head office by road:
From the end of the M62, follow the road (Edge lane) towards the city centre.
Continue for approx. 10 minutes until you get to a T-junction at the traffic lights. Turn right at
these lights. Go through the next set of lights and get directly over to the right-hand lane. You
will see the trading estate on your right, drive round to your right (Office World will be on your
left) and you will see the entrance to Erskine trading estate on your right. Drive in, turn left and
you will find us at the top left hand corner in the same building as Aston and Fincher hair beauty
wholesalers. Come through the joint A & F and NCB main entrance and straight up the stairs.
