2014 Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame. The Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame recognizes volunteers and staff who have exhibited outstanding service to their county 4-H program. Poweshiek County will select an individual or couple to induct into the 4-H Hall of Fame in a ceremony at the Iowa State Fair 4-H Exhibit building the last day of the fair. The individual or couple that each county selects becomes a member of the State 4-H Hall of Fame. The 4-H Hall of Fame is an opportunity for counties to recognize their outstanding volunteers or staff at the state level. The deadline for names, accompanying biographies, contact information, and photos is May 1st. Please send photos and write-ups electronically to Renny Crawford rennyc@iastate.edu We are asking that the biographies and photos for each inductee be sent electronically in Microsoft Word and jpg files if possible. The bio and photo will be placed in a three ring binder and on display at the state fair. The bio and photo will also be available on the 4-H Foundation website https://www.iowa4hfoundation.org/index.cfm?nodeID=31851&audienceID=1 Please make sure the bio that is written is complete and checked for grammatical errors. What is typed on the form will be copied and pasted into the bio pages in the binder and on the website. Also, please include on the selection form 4 sentences that introduce and highlight why the county chose this person for the Hall of Fame. These 4 sentences will be read when the inductee is introduced on stage. A letter of congratulations and invitation to the ceremony will be mailed to the inductees from the state 4-H office in late July We will announce the Honoree at the Poweshiek County Fair and would like to ask that the inductee and family be there if possible. The family/nominator will be contacted once the Honoree has been selected. The induction ceremony at the State Fair will take place on the last Sunday afternoon of the fair, August 17, in the 4-H Exhibit building. Because of the extraordinary number of families and friends who attend the induction ceremony, there are two induction ceremonies to provide a quality experience for the inductees and their supporters. The first ceremony, for counties Adair through Jasper, will begin at 1:30 p.m. The ceremony, for counties Jefferson through Wright, will begin at 3:30 p.m. 2013 Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame Contact Name: Phone: E-mail: Hall of Fame Inductee Name: Living: ___ Deceased: ___ (if deceased, a family member may represent the inductee at the induction ceremony) Name of family member if inductee is deceased: Contact information for inductee or family member if inductee is deceased Address: Phone: E-mail: Is this a SURPRISE for the inductee?
