Begin Internship I in host school – attend professional development/faculty sessions – get acquainted with faculty in the building, work with the mentor on classroom set-up and assist with any class preparations and co-planning lessons

Observe and get to know students

Observe in the classroom and work with mentor for opportunity to coteach in small segments – (week is a combination of observation and coteaching small portions of a subject or subjects)

Assist with material preparation for class, assist with teacher duties

(lunch, hall, etc.), assist individual students -

Aug. 25 – Winthrop University classes begin at 5:00 PM

August 26 - start modified schedule in host school according to your program

 Begin discussion of Long Range Plan (LRP) with mentor- (ECED, ELEM,

SPED, MLED, PHED)

Continue observing and co-teaching small segments of lessons with mentor, continue getting to know students and assisting mentor with duties and responsibilities, continue working with individual students/small groups

Refer to and mark calendar for September dates- September 10

Continue working on LRP with mentor –(specified programs listed above)

Take on more co-teaching portions of subjects/classes -

 Continue assisting mentor with duties and responsibilities and begin taking responsibility for small instructional and non-instructional activities

(morning routines, attendance, routine class starting activities, etc.)

Continue working on LRP with mentor- get feedback on portions completed for any necessary revisions

Continue co-planning and co-teaching with mentor

Continue co-planning and co-teaching with mentor

Take over full responsibility for various routine activities (both
