ORIENTATION - Theater Tour 3-3:30pm for Everyone – April 2 (Move in Day) The whole cast is arriving at 3pm on Sunday April 2 to rehearse. Before that the Move in and Tech teams will be there setting up for us. Many parents are staying to help Sunday. All parents are welcome to stay all the time for all rehearsals. If you do stay, please help you fellow parent if they are in need of an extra hand. At minimum, we ask those parents not volunteering Sunday stay 30 minutes (3-3:30pm Sunday April 2). At that time we’ll give a tour of the facility for cast, parents. Volunteers to get everyone acquainted. Mike/Dave/Rich will walk everyone through the theater, backstage, green room, dressing rooms, lobby, concessions, tech booth – and we might even find the bathrooms! We’ll also explain stage/show safety and places everyone will need to be quiet during shows. The Amato Center is a big (and fun) place – and we want to make sure everyone knows it like home. As we take the tour we’ll explain what may change during the week (for example, if the props table will be somewhere and is not yet, we’ll point that out). Bake Goods Please be sure to hook up with Sasha Kuftinec to confirm your dates for when to bring in bake goods Sasha is at 471-0356 (home), 493-2250 cell, kufberg@comcast.net COSTUME Notes for All You should have all gotten this from Evelynn Decker a few days ago. Info repeated here just in case you messed the note. The costume team has finalized the costumes for the show and now have a list of items cast members need by the start of tech week Sunday April 2. ALL cast members need black jazz, ballet, hip-hop or equivalent black shoes as a standard costume piece. Cast members must remember to bring them all tech week and for each performance. Cast members should bring the below items with their names clearly marked with masking tape on the inside of the item so we know who return them to. Cast member should check these items in with the costume team on Sunday. The item should be in a plastic grocery bag so we can easily hang them on a hanger. If possible mark the plastic grocery bag with your child’s name with a permanent marker. Also most likely starting Monday of tech week each cast member should wear a body suit OR t-shirt and running shorts under their clothes so costume changes can go easier. Boys and Girls will be given separate areas to dress at the theatre but in the case of a quick change in the wings it goes much easier if the cast member has something under their clothes to facilitate this. Hair Guidance For guidance on how to style your child’s hair for the show please review the following and see Linda Stanley or Dave with any questions. You should come to the theater with your child’s hair prepared to save time. Guidance Notes: Looking for most royal Girls hair to be up, in some sort of bun. Might be hard with the queen. Other styles for the girls are more traditional - today style (no wild colors/styles/modern hair accessories – you are in a fairy tale). Step sisters should have straggle hair, and the step brother's and other (boy parts) should have their hair pulled back. Check with costumes to see if they have hats to help girls hide long hair. Make Up Supplies to Get for your Child by Monday April 3. We realize not everyone has done a show before, and some have and have makeup. If you have a makeup kit, please bring it. If you don’t, you’ll need the following items for each child. We tried to balance the kid’s health and not making everyone buy tons of make up they may not use again. For health reasons, everyone should purchase black eyeliner (as it’s never good to share this across people as it spreads germs). The most gentle is a black cover girl automatic (no sharpener is needed and it’s safer). You just twist the pencil and a soft applicator comes out. The Make Up Team can help show you how to use it of you don’t know how. This is also easier to apply. You should also purchase a tube of lipstick. For girls – a pinky/mauve color (not too bright). For boys a neutral natural looking color (like a brownish color, or the color of your lips – they really aren’t red.). Don’t open the wrapper – as if it’s the wrong color, the Make Up Team can tell you that and you might be able to return it for the right color. If you have your own base, applicators, eye shadow, brushes, blush. Etc – feel free to bring them. If you don’t the Make Up Team will have the Actorsingers make up kit with these items for the cast (these items can be applied with throw away applicators we’ll have so we won’t spread cold germs). If you have makeup questions – please ask Linda Stanley or e-mail her at stanleyfour@comcast.net. Volunteer Teams Update All teams started/working. Please work with your leads to ensure good coverage and time for all to see the show. It will all be worth it once the shows go on – wait till you see what the kids look like on stage and all comes together. Way different than running on the 3 rd floor of A/S Hall.
