Theodore’s [Sedgwick] son, Henry Dwight Sedgwick, said of her, “She could neither read nor write, yet her conversation was instructive, and her society was much sought.” Upon her death in 1792 at the supposed age of 85, she was interred in the circular Sedgwick family plot called the “Sedgwick Pie” in the old burying ground in Stockbridge, lying next to Theodore’s daughter, Catherine Maria Sedgwick.
