Theodore’s [Sedgwick] son, Henry Dwight Sedgwick, said of her, “She
could neither read nor write, yet her conversation was instructive, and her
society was much sought.” Upon her death in 1792 at the supposed age of 85,
she was interred in the circular Sedgwick family plot called the “Sedgwick
Pie” in the old burying ground in Stockbridge, lying next to Theodore’s
daughter, Catherine Maria Sedgwick. (Chase, p. 26-27.)
